November 2012 calendar spread

I've been intrigued by this idea since I came across Kathryn's blog. When I got my duct tape journal back from the swap, I decided to give it a try (in a small way) by doing the last half of November. I managed to write something most of the days but then at the end, I forgot for three days and couldn't recall a single interesting thing that happened on the 28th. That's how lame my life is sometimes. One day is so like another that it's impossible to think back and find a difference. I'm not sure whether that's funny or sad.

Anyway, I'm going to go ahead and do December, and see if I can get in the swing of this cause I can see where it would be fun to go back and see how one year compared to another, or what happened on a given day. A lot of people journal every day, but I don't, so I presently have no clue what happened last year on this day.
I prolly just went to work.

I stenciled NOV, then wrote a haiku for the right side of the spread.

  1. I don't journal every day, but I fill in these little boxes with prompts that help me remember what I did on a certain day. It helps as I look back over the month or year or even last year. I think this is a great way to keep a log of what happens. Of course, my calendar is nowhere nearly as nice as yours. You did an awesome job of finishing the month.

  2. I agree with Elizabeth's comment above. I have done a spread ea month and love having a little space to put in a little note each day-very simple. I love the vibrant page you've done . Lovely haiku, and I especially love the feather with the line of birdies!

  3. It's a fun way to get your journaling in, even in a small way, every day. The back part of November is very nice! I love the colors on both of the pages.

  4. Great colours, glad you had a go. It's hard sometimes to find what to write. :)

  5. Great Haiku! Adding poetry in journalling is a new discovery for me :) I think the little space for writing has proven to be a fabulous record of fun times my daughter & I have shared.....
